Since Friday 1 April , fully vaccinated foreign travellers have no longer been required to do pre-entry tests before entering Canada.

This is what we know about the rules for travelling to the country for UK tourists. The rules changed on Tuesday 7 September , when the Canadian government opened its borders to fully vaccinated international travellers. Visitors must have received both doses of an approved vaccine at least 14 days prior to entering the country. Proof of vaccination must be uploaded to the official ArriveCAN website before departure for the country.

Since 1 April , fully vaccinated foreign travellers are longer required to do pre-entry tests before entering Canada by land, air or sea. And since 25 April, unvaccinated and partially vaccinated children aged five to 11 no longer need to complete a pre-entry Covid test to enter.

Those under five also do not need to do a Covid test. Pre-entry tests continue to be required for partially vaccinated or unvaccinated travellers who are aged 12 and older who are currently eligible to travel to Canada.

All travellers must continue to wear a mask throughout their entire journey to Canada, however — regardless of vaccination status. Fully vaccinated travellers no longer have to wear masks in public spaces, quarantine if someone in their group has Covid or Covid symptoms, or report if they have Covid symptoms themselves. It's always wise to check the government website for the destination you are travelling to, as well as the one you are returning to, well ahead of your trip to ensure you are aware of the latest requirements.

Also, always make sure you travel with the correct travel insurance should you unfortunately catch Covid while travelling. Yes, since 18 March , all Covid travel rules have been dropped in the UK.
